It's been a busy past couple of weeks, so we decided to relax and enjoy the weather this past weekend with a little trek into the woods. We found this little spot after wandering around for a while and stopped for some warm apple cider from a nearby cider mill. Our blanket was too small and we didn't get to stay for as long as we would have liked lounging around, but we had fun playing with the camera. This is the first time we used a tripod and tried the self-timer. It's definitely going to take some getting used to trying to look natural in these pictures. I always want to "capture the moment" and reenact what we had been doing for a picture, but sometimes trying to reproduce that feeling you have when no technology is around to log the moment is ever elusive. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. I'll still try to, though, because some moments you want to remember forever even when the vision becomes foggy in your mind.
These pictures are SO beautiful and vibrant . I am jealous of this lens ;D

DeleteWhat a great shoot you were able to do all by yourself! Just wanted to pop by and say thanks for following me and say I absolutely LOVE your moonrise kingdom costumes! I wish we had thought of that sooner! Look forward to reading more posts! Cheers.

DeleteOh. my. goodness. These pictures are absolutely beautiful, and they made me smile as I scrolled down. You and Wade are a match made in Heaven, and the color is gorgeous! I love the pictures of you drinking the cider and reading a book. LOVE them! The lighting is incredible, too!

DeleteWhat a fun picnic! These are the things I want to do on the weekends!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kate! It was fun. I want to do more of these things. It always seems like fall goes by way too fast before I even get to enjoy it:)
DeleteI don't know what it is about using the self-timer on my camera - it's like I freeze up and suddenly look completely unnatural in pictures! If you hadn't told me you used your tripod in these, I wouldn't have known though. (Although, I would have wondered if you brought a friend along on your picnic just to photograph the two of you...) :o)
ReplyDeleteyou guys are so cute and this looks like so much fun. :)
