VINTAGE VIGNETTE

Sometimes you just want to put together something pretty, because it inspires you.  I heard about a holiday open house at Donna's Dressshop, a vintage store in town that I wanted to check out.  The invite said to dress in your favorite vintage style, so I grabbed a dress I had tucked away in the back of my closet and some other items I had lying around that seemed to fit the occasion and forced asked Wade to wear a tie.  (He's a really good sport.)
At the last minute I grabbed these props from inside, because what good is a blog photo shoot without some obligatory props?
Coat: Delia's (long time ago)//Dress: Ruche//Bracelet, Earrings: Vintage//Tights: Anthropologie//Shoes: Old Navy
Can you believe it's already time for holiday parties and sparkly lights?  Do you have any fun parties you're looking forward to?  I'll be back later this week to share more about the open house at the dress shop.  Until then, you stay classy, Blogland.  (I guess I'm getting too excited for the new Anchorman movie.)

  2. You put this outfit together so well, Kari. The picture of Wade with the props is funny. I can't wait for Anchorman dos either. I hope it's a good sequel (because sometimes those two words don't go together so well…)

    1. Thanks, Devon:) Wade is a pretty good sport. He usually complains about it for awhile, but then comes around. I hope the sequel is good, too, because my expectations are pretty high. You're right that there aren't a lot of good sequels. If the first one was really funny, then it seems like everyone is expecting too much that the second one can't live up to. Cross your fingers this one is different:)

  4. You look beautiful Kari, I love this photoshoot. The coat and the pearls are especially gorgeous. I don't live a Christmas party existence at the moment, it's more nativity plays and carol services round here! Oh to dress up and be glamorous...

  7. I was planning on just enjoying your post today without bombarding you with comments (I don't know if anyone else gets this but sometimes I feel as though I might 'bother' some of my favourite bloggers my comenting too often- is that just mad?) Anyway, I know how you appreciate comments (as do we all) and I really loved your hair so much in this post that I just had to comment. Really, you look quite something, Kari, and what a cute dress. Hope you had a nice time out :)
