On my actual birthday, I took the day off of work and my mom and I headed down to the 39th Street West area of Kansas City to shop and eat the day away.
This area is home to Donna's Dress Shop. See my previous post about this cute shop here.
After shopping, we got hungry and went to get some lunch at a diner nearby. The receipt just happened to come with a coupon to the ice cream place down the street, so we had to get some. Especially because it was called Miami Ice and looked like it was straight out of late 80s. I need to take Wade back here in the summer and have him wear an all white suit with no socks. Don't know what I'm talking about? See here.
Then my mom and I found this hilarious cutout promoting Anchorman 2. Would have made a great Christmas card.
We topped the night off with dinner at a Mexican restaurant with Wade and my parents and rang in another birthday with some margaritas. Perfect end to a perfect day.
Check back in a few days for part 2. Have a great weekend everyone!
I'm glad you took the day off & enjoyed yourself! Looks like you had fun! Hope you got everything you wanted; you deserve it!

DeleteI'm so happy you got to have the perfect birthday. How nice to spend that day with your favorite people in some of your favorite places.
ReplyDeleteHow is it that I lived in Missouri for almost four years and never visited Prospero's Books?!?! That is shameful. It looks amazing! And happy belated birthday. :)
