PEICD (PROJECTS EVEN I CAN DO): VALENTINE POPPER

I've been wanting to try my hand at making my own version of a popper for a while now, so I thought Valentine's Day would be the perfect opportunity.  What better way to show your love than surprising your little valentine with a pop of candy and stickers?

Supplies Needed:

Step 1:  Cut a circle out of the cardstock and make the circle slightly smaller than the cardboard roll so that it fits easily into the roll.

Step 2:  Cut a rectangular piece of cardstock that will fit around the circle.  Tape the strip onto the circle with the washi tape.

Step 3:  Hot glue the paper straw onto the end of the circle.  This will be your popper pusher.

Step 4:  Cut a circle out of the napkin and tape it loosely around one end of the roll.  You want to make sure it stays on, but isn't so secure that it is too hard to push the candy and stickers through.

Step 5:  Now take a piece of tissue paper and wrap it around the cardboard roll.  Tape the end with the washi tape.

Step 6:  Fill the cardboard roll with the candy and stickers.  Then put the popper pusher from Step 3 into the open end of the cardboard roll.  It might be difficult to maneuver it in, but the paper is pliable enough that it will fit.

Step 7:  Add some glitter ribbon to make it extra fancy and add a fun note for your valentine.  Voila!  You're done and have a fun surprise for your little valentine.

I'm visiting Treasure Tromp today, a blog written by the lovely Nicole,  to share some tips about being a tourist in your own city so be sure to stop by!

  1. hmm--now that's fun and a little different! (And possibly slightly more complicated than most of your PEICD...are you quite sure that I can do this?) heehee! But I do see how it works...

    1. You made me laugh! You're right--it is more complicated than what I usually post, but if I could make it, you could, too:) Just use lots of tape:)

  7. These are so cute. Too bad I could mess up something as seemingly simple as this. Oh, the joys of being crafticapped.
