PEICD (PROJECTS EVEN I CAN DO): JEWELRY BOARD
The other day I was going through this bag and was so excited to see all these fun things I had forgotten I had. It was like shopping in my own room. I decided to create a way to display my jewelry so that I could see everything. I also like that it adds some color to my bare walls.
This was a really easy project. The longest part was painting the frame of the cork board.
--Any size cork board you want
Step 1: Paint the frame of your cork board. I picked a muted olive green to make my jewelry pop. I also thought about covering the cork board with fabric, which would have been cute, too. At first, I was going to paint the whole cork board, because I feel like I'm bombarded with too much brown in my house. I decided against it since I could just see it turning into a huge mess when the paint chipped off after putting in the push pins. If you try it, let me know, though, how it goes.
Step 2: Put your push pins anywhere you want your necklaces to hang. I put mine in kind of a haphazard order and put two pushpins in each place to distribute the weight of some of my heavier necklaces. Instead of using clear push pins, I could also see creating your own fabric covered or painted push pins to add a unique touch. There's some from Anthropologie that I have been eyeing, but I wanted to keep the focus on the jewelry.
Step 3: Now's the fun part--adding your necklaces and bracelets and headbands. I had an over the door hanger laying around that I put over the cork board to hold all my left over items that I couldn't fit on the cork board. Told you I have way too much stuff.
Well, that's it! Easy, right? Probably doesn't even warrant me typing out the steps, but it made my post seem more substantial today, so that was good.
How do you store your jewelry and keep it from turning into a knotted mess?
